Pilates (pronounced puh-LAH-tees) is a method of exercise developed by German born Joseph Pilates. There are more than 500 exercises to increase strength, flexibility, stamina, and concentration.

Pilates is a unique, full body exercise system that anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, can do. Equipment based work uses spring resistance to strengthen the core, decompress the spine, and increase range of motion. Smaller, static pieces are specially designed to either stretch and release, or stabilize, the shoulder and pelvic girdles, all without strain to the joints. Mary offers Pilates instruction in one-on-one training sessions, as it was traditionally performed. This allows her to tailor the exercises and the focus of the session to the individual needs and goals of the client.

Mary teaches at several locations in Arlington. Private sessions are one hour long and are $75. Please contact for availability.
